List of Ingredients

  • 200 g Chickpea
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 3 unit Gooseberry
  • 1 unit Onion
  • 1 unit Tomato
  • 3 unit Clove
  • 10 g Ginger
  • 8 unit Garlic
  • 0.5 tsp Turmeric
  • 0.5 tsp Chili Powder
  • 0.5 tsp Garam Masala
  • 0.5 tsp Mango Powder
  • 0.5 cup Green Chilli
  • 4 cup Water
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 2 unit Black Cardamoms
  • 1 unit Cinnamon
  • 4 unit Black Pepper
  • 1 fl oz Bay Leaf
  • 0.5 tsp Carom Seed
  • 0.5 tsp Cumin
  • 1 tsp Coriander
  • 0.5 tsp Fennel Seed
  • 0.5 tsp Dry Pomegranate Seeds
  • 1 unit Tomato
  • 1 quart Lime

    rinse and soak chickpeas in enough water for overnight

    rinse the chickpeas

    Add gooseberry along chickpeas in pressure cooker to get dark colour of chickpeas , pour 3 cups of water

    add salt and stir very well

    cook channa for 13 whistles

    Add all spices - black cardamoms, green cardamoms,cloves, carom seeds, cumin seeds,coriander,fennel seeds, dry pomegranate seeds, bay leaf , until they became golden brown

    Add 2 tbsp oil in a pan also ginger and garlic

    Add chopped onions and tomato along chilli powder and turmeric

    Add green chillies to onion - tomato mixture

    Add cooked and drained chickpeas and stir well

    Add salt and water if required According to your taste

    Add mango powder and stir well . Channa Masala( Chickpeas) are ready to serve
